  1. The photograph of the cave is upside down! I notified National Geographic by letter and they replied to me, "We goofed!" However they did not print a retraction, nor did they say that anyone else had caught it, only one person, evidently, out of about ten million readers.

    1. In the center of the cave photograph, about one-fourth down from the top is what looks like an inverted mushroom. This caught my eye and the drips from the top edge of the mushroom could only have formed if the mushroom was inverted. It was a Eureka moment.
